BALANCE

The most complex balance in circus acrobatic scenes is the threefold. There isn't anything more difficult. Though Chinese acrobats seem to do it with ease. Maybe because of innate feelings of balance. But even more complex manipulations are subject to the artist. Even in photography, which is, apparently, stating a reality. But everything will vary in order to find the special point of view. As in a sculpture - standing before the "Bronze Horseman", to feel oneself as poor Eugene Onegin; behind him - as associate, involved in the stream of great matters, sideways - as a citizen.
It is enough to find the point of view, and then habitual, common subjects and views will vary immensely: snow will become clouds, the slope of a mountain will turn into the sky, a roof will argue with a road, but the telegraphic pole cuts off their dispute. And if one takes a telescope, then space will compress: churches far apart from each other will seem very close. Materials also can be swapped: to transform a body into a tree (as per the usual operation of myths). It is possible to cancel the law of gravity, to make a child as strong as a man; to turn a root into a bird. It is possible to overturn castle walls, to fill smoke with water and fog, to dissolve, in Van Gogh's manner, in solar light.
…But what for? For what reason does artist Yuri Belozersky change things by place, imitate materials, break even creation? What equilibrium levels are in his vision of creation? You see here not plaster under gold, but gold under plaster, or, more correclty, gold under skin. Literal implementation of a metaphor "golden skin". And how else could we understand the daily miracle of dawn of the sun, except if to break, with the help of the artist, the balance of ordinary balance? How else to understand that there is an edge of Earth, that Earth itself - earth's surface - is held apart, swelling up, by wood shoots, transforming itself in front of our eyes into a global tree, the struggle of tectonic forces of stiffening lava and water. Eternal Sent Victuar? Otherwise how could we understand that the balance is the purpose of this struggle; not the balance of a telegraphic pole or even Chinese gymnasts, but balance of sky and earth, which cannot broken, even if they will change places.
